Mombasa Marine is surrounded by beautiful and breathtaking beaches. These include; Nyali, Shanzu, Bamburi and Kenyatta Public beaches. This protected area is a favorite amongst snorkelers, divers and anyone drawn to the dramatic colours and creatures of the sea. The coral reefs here are world-class, said to be amongst the best three dive sites in the world. The waters are literally awash with sea urchin, crab, starfish, octopus and more. Paddling about or diving amongst the coral you’ll find a fantastic variety of sea life sustained by the reef such as angelfish, snapper, parrotfish, zebrafish, and lionfish.
And if all those vibrant sea forms weren’t enough you may also enjoy sharing this aquatic paradise with rays, turtles, and various types of dolphins. When you’re not taking in the dazzling parade of aquatic life, the park is a wonderful spot for bird watching. Looking up from the sea you’ll find crab plovers, roseate terns, and others flying about this natural reserve. Besides diving, the park and reserve offer active forms of aquatic entertainment like waterskiing, jet skiing, sailing, and windsurfing. If all that’s too much…. there’s plenty of sunbathing on those golden sands under that coconut palm.
